After McDonalds shut its doors last week due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, The people at McDonald’s have actually shared the recipe for their most popular breakfast items, the sausage and egg McMuffin, so you can make it yourself at home!
Here is the easy step by step guide to make your own McMuffin. You will need: English muffins (or something similar), eggs, sausage meat, American cheese slices and potato.
Step 1 – Toast the English muffin until golden brown.
Step 2 – Season the sausage meat with a pinch of salt and pepper and shape into balls. Flatten into patty shapes and cook under a pre-heated grill for six to seven minutes on each side (or as per instructions on packaging.)
Step 3 – Prepare the eggs by brushing the inside of a metal ring with a little oil and place in a small frying pan. Pour in just enough water to cover the base then bring to the boil.Crack the eggs into the rings, cover the pan and cook for two to three minutes.
Step 4 – Start to assemble your McMuffin by by layering the patty and egg on top of a slice of cheese.
Step 5 – To make a hash brown, grate the potato into a bowl. Mix in an egg then season with salt and pepper. Heat a glug of oil in a pan then add a spoonful of the mix. Flatten and cook until golden brown on both sides.
Fully assemble the rest of your delicious muffin and voila! your very own breakfast egg McMuffin and oughthash brown! much easier than we thought!
